Not a cruising companion. More a charterers guide August 6, 2010 Mystic Abu I was very disappointed with this book. Mine was the latest edition, January 2010, originally produced in 2007. Whilst realising that this type of publication is out of date before it's published I feel that much of the information predates that and is often hopelessly inaccurate. Some of the chartlets don't have a scale and those that do are in kilometres and cables?? If you are going on a two week charter holiday, it will adequately guide you from marina to marina and restaurant to restaurant but to call it a Croatia Cruising Companion is stretching the imagination. It ignores the existence of Croatia north of Zadar, a further 110 miles, with many islets and inlets. If you are spending a season cruising there then don't waste your money. Buy the Adriatic pilot.
not what it says on the cover... April 9, 2010 valts (Latvia) Although the product is alright it's not exactly what it states on the cover. You would assume that a book called "Croatia Cruising Companion" would cover the whole coast of the country. It does not! The area covered is starting from Zadar and everything south of it. Somewhat disappointing. I'm going to sail in the area of Zadar and the book covers just a part of my intended sailing area.
Great guide October 7, 2009 Dunedin (Scotland) Invaluable if you are planning to sail southern Croatia. And costs less than half a typical marina charge so will pay for itself.
Note only starts at Zadar so check covers your intended cruising area
Croatia cruising guide September 10, 2009 Mr. K. Sharp (England) first class cruising guide, although hardback it gives all the detail you need. We used to to sail north of Trogir around Kornati Islands. Well worth it
Happy Sailing August 1, 2009 Claudine Pearson (Guernsey , Channel Islands) This book was informative and interesting with good clear lifelike photo,s of the places we visited. It gives you an insight into the type of marina or anchorage that is most suitable for your requirements. It briefly describes places of interest and recommended places to eat! A must if you are sailing around the beautiful islands of Croatia. I thouroughly recommend it.
