4 out of 5 stars Amazing Value: 3 in 1 Book for £10   April 8, 2010

After seeing the first film, I decided to read the books and was amazed by the price of this book. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to read the original trilogy

5 out of 5 stars The films have done the books credit, but aren't as good!   February 27, 2010
Mr. Jamie D. Strachan (Leeds, UK)
When I read the Bourne Trilogy i found it quite a challenging task - the thought of 1100 pages when i was a relatively new enthusiat of reading.

Upon commencing though, I was astounded by the attention to detail, depth of character and the way Ludlum draws you in. By the time I had finished the first of the three novels, I had to make myself read another book simply to prolong the Trilogy experience.

When the trilogy was finished, I was truly saddened as it had been such an enjoyable experience. QUite simply the Bourne Trilogy was the best Thriller I have ever read.

The subsequent films were excellent and were true to the characters and believability of the books and weren't too Bond like.

I still remember with fondness reading the trilogy and would happily do it again.

I truly look forward to finding a book as good as this again!

5 out of 5 stars Very good seller   October 31, 2009

My book arrived very, very quickly and was in excellent condition - just like new.

5 out of 5 stars The Yardstick   September 13, 2009
amazonian117 (England)
For me this trilogy will always be the yardstick against which I compare action/adventure and thriller/assassin/government agency themed novels.

It is considerably more complex than the films, although they do provide an excellent adaptation and are very good in their own right. But the plot is changed a lot and reduced a lot for the films. You miss out on some of the best action and a lot of the character development.

I think what is most appealing about Bourne is not only his identity crisis after waking up, wounded, and not knowing who he is, that he works for a clandestine government agency. A lot of the appeal is also in how he goes about his job. Unlike James Bond and others, he doesn't rely on gadgets and contacts and having massive amounts of money thrown at each mission. He doesn't have a team to back him up. He's just one man with a mission, and he carries it out in a totally believable way. Everything from his fighting techniques, the way he eludes those chasing him, to how he manages to run circles around the authorities, with their superior technology and manpower, are incredible yet completely believable. When he does rely on the help of others, it's a select few trusted friends and ex-colleagues, and he uses their skills and contacts intelligently. He's somewhat understated, as compared to a lot of action-heroes, and it's a more intelligent brand of action.

4 out of 5 stars good read   July 24, 2009
M. C. Flaherty (London)
You can see where they got the awesome idea for the films from, but the book definately offers a much richer story line with much more depth and sense than the films.
Well worth a read and worth the price.
