Sacred Vault by Andy McDermott September 8, 2010 veggie_grasshopper (Lincolnshire, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book as soon as it became available as I'm a massive fan of Andy McDermott's books but I found this one really quite annoying. It seemed to be a mismatch of every Bond film ever made with a bit of Clive Cussler thrown in for good measure. I thought the plot was repetitive and certainly not original. I'll keep trying McDermott's next books but I really did find this one lacking the usual spark which makes the Nina Wilde/Eddie chase series so thrilling. Extremely dissapointing!
Probably the best writer in his genre September 6, 2010 R. J. Carter (UK) Probably the best writer in his genre.....
But not his best book, The pace is there the quality is there, but there is just a small amount of it being forced for me, a myth too far maybe.
Im sure there are loads of myths and probalems left in the world for our Duo to resolve, but this didnt seem like their best.
That said they are aging and they are suffering with problems..Ole Deffo being the main addition in this one. But i also feel that given the explots Andy needs to be bringing in some sidekicks and replacements to do some of the more insane stuff.
all that aside, Andy bloows away Rollins, Berry and all the rest of the genre these days, both in quality and quantity.
I await the next book eagerly.
More of the same August 27, 2010 Anonybrit 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The title of this review sums it up. If you have started this series on book one and read them all the way through and liked them - as I have - then this book will give you more of what you liked before.
Quite how someone can write what is essentially the same story six times in six different books by just changing a few superficial details and get away with it is a Mystery, but McDermott pulls it off.
Usual hgh standard August 23, 2010 Mrs. Valerie C. Taylor 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I really look forward to this author's books especially the series with Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase. They make my humdrum life more exciting and I have problems putting the books down. Very readable and very entertaining.

This book is as great as the previous ones in fact they seem to be getting better as each one is written.
