| Customer Reviews: Can't wait for the last installment! July 23, 2010 Y. Miller (London, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book, the third in a series of four is so much better than the previous book. The characters are so much more rounded and interesting. Logan is such a yummy hero, not at all vulnerable, but faces up to his feelings for Linnette (sorry forgot the spelling) very early on. The herione is also very interesting, not looking for a husband because of her situation and responsibilities, but doesn't at any time feel sorry for herself. The book moves very swiftly and there is none of the repetitiveness that was in the last one. So far this is my favourite of the three.
The Plot is Getting Tired by the Third Novel July 5, 2010 Avid Reader (London, England) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is the third in the series about 4 comrades returning to England from India carrying either an incriminating letter or copies thereof to confuse the enemy.
While I enjoyed the first two books in the series, this book does not add anything to the overall story. It is the usual Laurens romp with too many prolonged sex scenes. If, like me you skip most of the sex scenes, you'll probably want to skip this book. The story between the sex scenes was not as well developed as it might have been -same enenies and similar tactics to circumvent them.
The only good thing about the incestuous relationship between Alex and Daniel was that we were not inundated with prolonged sex scenes - something that Laurens should consider for her heterosexual hero and heroine. The charm of Georgette Heyer is that she could not rely on sex scenes to cover deficiences in the stories so she had to write good stories.
So far one book too many in this series. I hope the fourth is up to Laurens former standard - i.e the standard she reached in the early Cynster and the early Bastion Club novels.
